Mother and Child

Mother and Child by Tommia Wright

Across the way in the alcove

a mother holds her child in love

under the archway, under the shield

the one to make the way, to sin never yield.

To pray for those who need to be loved

To give thanks for those who selflessly love

To treasure something as a caring touch

To know this world’s possessions couldn’t compare much.
