Aiming High

Aiming high – why or why
When I know I’ll always fall short of the sky?
I’ve been called on it once or twice –
The delivery sometimes anything but nice.
And yet I refuse to lower the bar,
Determined to push myself (too?) far.
Go ahead and tell me ‘perfect score’
(My inner voice will whisper ‘more’).
It isn’t the Tower of Babel I climb.
I only need to focus on Him who’s sublime.
