“It is God who arms me with strength and keeps my way secure.” ~ 2 Samuel 22:33.
Markets fall, savings dwindle; bills increase; worries go the way of roller coasters in their unpredictability of ups and downs, twists and turns. It’s reassuring to know that God has prepared us and strengthened us to continue on our heavenly-bound way. It doesn’t matter if we have the happiness here on earth, a happiness that can sometimes be fleeting, sometimes come with another person’s expectations attached. It doesn’t matter what works we have done because we will never be able to earn/work our way to heaven. That price was paid in full by Christ on the cross.
When approached by or addressing a friend or family member in need, in pain, the Holy Spirit provides to words to say. If a prophet such as Moses could speak to the peoples, even with his manner of speech, so can we – thanks to the confidence and guidance given by God through the Holy Spirit.
So no matter what titles line the many rows of self-help shelves, no matter how many charismatic speakers try to pave a way filled with uncertainty, rest assured that God is the one who has us in his arms and prepares us for our path home.
