Sunday and Snow

Stanley Mines Idaho Springs - mini by Tommia Wright

Well, obviously no snow in this picture, but nothing starts a state of confusion like snow/rain mix after losing an hour of sleep.

It’s a matter of perspective. I thought, in looking at the mentioned weather report that I’d only have to deal with rain. No, rain with snow brings to mind questions of ‘What state am I in?’ The joke in Colorado is if one doesn’t like the weather, wait fifteen minutes. That’s what today felt like -without the change, lasting more than the quarter hour.

Returning to perspective. One of the best ways to mark the end of summer was the annual camping trip by Turquoise Lake. Driving back to what was home, I’d pass a sign that said “Tiny Town.” Never did stop by until after the last camping trip. While the entire town was ‘tiny,’ the imagination and appreciation of the various structures was large. Luckily, having an empty memory card for the digital camera that day allowed me the chance to photograph almost every structure there.
