Because…

The new year brings a wide collection of motivational ‘yes you can’ announcements: from magazine covers to ‘new year, new you’ television talk shows to various talking heads on the radio telling you what you should do.

Among the daily readings I get in my email box – by choice, not spam – an interesting site to peruse is “The Daily Motivator” from Ralph Marston. An interesting collection of very short reads that provide a morsel for the mind. Granted, it doesn’t quench the thirst of the daily readings from the WEL(s), but it serves a purpose.

“Just Because” was part of the 2011 collection. It’s fitting for any day of the year.

While I chose to not post anything for this past weekend (aside from fixing a few errors for the latter part of the week and tucking in a ‘new’ poem on the poetry page), it’s amazing for me that just because I didn’t post for two days doesn’t mean I’ve already ‘failed’ in my goal. I’m still whatever posts ahead of zero this year.

Is there going to be a routine to the ramblings? Is that even possible? Is it practical? Is it even a point?

The only thing new for this ‘old’ writer is to write the checklist for the day (it ends my checklist each night under the ‘did I remember’ so I don’t forget). This time around, I’ve managed to improve the number of items accomplished, started or in mid-stride. And like the bills to be paid on time, there are deadlines for some that I will hopefully not miss (not saying the world should end if I do, but I like a target to have).

One new page has been added above: SVW Homework. A reason (of many) as to why I started this tablet was for accountability with the assignments given weekly. Once this first one of the year is completed and properly polished, it will be posted. If I do this right, it should be done before the next assignment is given. I hope.

In the meantime, the sun is aiming for its midday place – methinks it’s a good time to get to the waterfalls at a leisurely pace.
