Remember the magnets that parents used to put on the fridge to encourage us to recognize and play with letters? First words spelled were probably “Mom” and “Dad” and our own name because that left a mark.
Playing with magnetic letters or words never loses its magic. I recently found a web site for Magnetic Poetry that lets you play with the words, create poems or short stories you can save and send to friends. The last couple of days have been fun as Sheri and I have exchanged various verses back and forth. I’ll decipher those later and eventually add them to the Poems page of the blog.
Otherwise, as I try to decide what theme to use for the upcoming Sketchbook Project, I found the Magnetic Poetry Word Stamp Kit. There are different versions to choose from, but I settled on the one that fit the $10 limit I had in my pocket that day.
Maybe I’ll try selecting one word at random and see what poem or short story follows or try to sketch a picture to go with.
When was the last time you had fun playing with words? Which ones are you drawn to like a magnet?

So that’s where you’ve been. I’ve missed your posts. This is a good one. I work crossword puzzles for my word play.
A great film to watch on that subject is “Wordplay.” Very informative and fun. I should dig out the box of crossword books I’ve acquired from supporting school magazine sales.
