Too Fun Tuesday

Reading Joy November 2020 by Tommia Wright

Joy is in getting two comics where representation matters. Marvel’s Voices: Indigenous Voices Vol. 1 came out this week and I’m looking forward to reading these this weekend (discipline – it’s a challenge)!

For NaNoWriMo this year, rather than finding one ‘major purchase’ to buy at month’s end, I decided to order five books from one of the many indie-bookstores on my ‘buy from’ list. For each 10,000 goal I reach, I get to unwrap one book.

The Empire Strikes Back was purchased from the University Bookstore in the hopes of enjoying an author presentation. Alas, I missed it, however the book is one of my ‘December delights’ choices.

What books do you have on your to-be-read list?

Space Cowboys Bookstore now has online shop. That is an Indie as one gets; plus. he has my books too. I’ve Brian L Porter’s Mercy Killing to read. It is is a mystery. Tweeted

  2. Oooo, I like the strategy of pre-buying and opening something at each 10,000. I tend to pick one big reward, and it gets tough to stay motivated during that soggy, saggy middle part. Although I trudged through. The writing prompts in our region’s scavenger hunt were my mini prizes, I suppose. I didn’t let myself do the next one until I finished each.

The Scavenger Hunt was spectacular! Helped put a few things in place for not only this story but others in the collection. (smile)
The 10k prize approach let me justify one of my (many) indie-bookstore splurges. I do have one 50k prize I ordered (not book-related) that I’ll open once that mark is crossed, too.
