Let’s be honest – classical music is the elixir of life!

Last month’s escape included an indulgence to hear Sheku Kanneh-Mason‘s U.S. orchestral debut, playing Tchaikovsky’s Rococo variations! Also taking to the stage to make a mark was the conductor, Ruth Reinhardt. With these two a part of the Seattle Symphony, if only for a short spell, made for a splendid, soaring evening.

Star Wars a New Hope in Concert w/the Seattle Symphony Orchestra

There’s a certain joy in taking in a Sunday matinee. There’s an even greater joy when the soundtrack is performed by the Seattle Symphony Orchestra, nominated for Gramophone’s Orchestra of the Year. (Voting ends on Wednesday, July 31st.)

Attendees were young and old, dressed in costume or their favorite tee-shirts. Some knew the film by heart, others, their first time seeing it. As the first cellist said prior to the show – we’ll laugh together, cry together, and enjoy a classic story together.
