Make Mine Music by Tommia Wright

An interesting conversation on the radio during the drive home – The lost art of creating the ideal mixed tape. How many recall setting up the tape deck, paired with either the record player or the radio, and painstakingly timing the songs to fit on the 60-, 90- or 120-minute cassette? How many still have that ideal ‘road trip’ or ‘cram session’ playlist?

Seattle Symphony Orchestra (JiC) at Benaroya Hall by Tommia Wright

Found this poem courtesy of Susan Cain’s post:

“To live content with small means;
to seek elegance rather than luxury,
and refinement rather than fashion;
to be worthy, not respectable,
and wealthy, not, rich;
to listen to stars and birds,
babes and sages, with open heart;
to study hard;
to think quietly, act frankly, talk gently,
await occasions, hurry never;
in a word, to let the spiritual,
unbidden and unconscious,
grow up through the common
– this is my symphony”

William Ellery Channing (via Anat Vaughan-Lee)

Amazing, the things you see when you truly get to the bottom of things…
