Well, decided to spend the first morning hours straightening things up, to clear away the obstacles and excuses I use for not playing more.
One of the minor accomplishments was finally putting together the Sketchbook Page on the blog (thanks to some fellow SnoBoot SketchCats for the reminder as we count down our days to Portland!).
The other minor setup was in reassembling the miniature ‘toy box.’ You know the fancy boxes that holiday candy seems to come in? Well, I’ll gladly dispense of the candy in other directions; let me keep the box. Tile notwithstanding, above are some of the toys that fit in one of the boxes.
Do you have a toy box? Play with it often or let it collect dust? Add to it? Share items from it? Do you remember what your childhood toy box looked like if you had one?
Found the miniature picture frame at a thrift shop that does a lot of good works for people in the community. Perhaps it’s time I tear the pages out of my mini art book (after creating/finding a new one) and add a bit o’color at my desk.
What was the last splendid find you made at a thrift shop?

I have a thing for boxes–perhaps born from only being allowed a small number of items out on my dressers etc. Each box is a mini-collection of items that my creative self deems ‘related’. One of my favorite things about working on the sketchbook project was getting out several of my art-related boxes and playing with them with my SnoBoot SketchCats friends. Long live toy boxes!
Agreed on the last line! I’ve a weakness for photo boxes and will foolishly buy one – maybe two if the patterns are catchy and they’re on sale. Come to think of it, I have two such boxes to unearth in time for the Sketchbook 2013 project…
