Today’s belated shot is in response to the Daily Prompt: What giant step did you take where you hoped your leg wouldn’t break? Was it worth it, were you successful in walking on the moon, or did your leg break?/Photographers, artists, poets: show us RISK.
Well, this weekend’s adventure would involve ‘breaking a leg,’ so to speak.
Three amazing days of play, where one of the key rules was that there were no rules. Well, no – there was no judgement allowed. I met and enjoyed the company of a couple of dozen creative individuals with varying experiences with the improv. Some of us trying it for the first time, others playing with it for years. Disconnected from the ‘real world’ while building worlds of our own, within and without allowed for many discoveries.
How often do we keep ourselves from taking a risk because we fear we’ll fall?If that’s the case, remember:
(From Batman Begins) “Why do we fall? So we may learn to pick ourselves up.” Thomas Wayne.
(From Lifehack) “If we did all the things we are capable of, we would literally astound ourselves.” Thomas Edison

Well, I could list my four novels and one anthology that I’ve published since I retired, but this is your blog. Tweeted for you.
Thank you for the tweet. And please – feel free to share the novels and anthology! (Smile)
Why thank you. I retired in 2001 (others may do the math). Since then I have published four novels, Earthbound (Volume 1), Gather the Children, Before We Leave, and Return of the Maca (Volume IV). Earthbound & Return of the Maca both were on the high purchase list of Amazon.com for a brief time. The anthology is Twisted Tales from the Desert. It has been an incredible journey. You can look at my website Mari Collier if you would like to know more.

True I agree with Thomas Edison’s quote.
It’s amazing what strengths we have that could shine if we stopped burying them within ourselves.

I know exactly where that stage and campfire pit is. I also had a wonderful weekend of learning and empowerment last fall at this location. Great post!
Thanks. Love your blog, too! (smile)
Looking forward to hearing more about the improve get-away… 🙂
