Monday Moment

barren stage of imagination

Barren Stage of Imagination

What do you see on an empty stage
Eagerly awaiting jesters and sages
To recite words that have lasted for ages.

What do you see on an empty stage
Empty of props, backdrops and cages
To guide actors who have their gauges.

What do you see on an empty stage
Beyond the lights above with a faint glow
The orchestra tuning in the pit below

Close your eyes, listen closely
To stories arising mostly
With the whisper of a word
The hum of a string.

What you see on the stage is but a magical thing.

But an empty stage is always alluring. It tempts one to dream and provides spaces to fill. Yes, I Tweeted this and Tuesday’s offering too.
