Saturday Snapshot
“Where liberty dwells, there is my country.” ~ Benjamin Franklin
Friday Fast One
Some days, moving as fast as little legs will carry….
Other days, just sluggin’ along…
Thursday Theater
It was worth it! Set aside time and money, and better still – time with a friend to fly across the country to attend Shakespeare in the Park! The indulgence? Shakespeare’s The Tempest.
I’ve read about this artistic treat for years and to finally take part in it is a highlight of the year. It’s one thing to read a play, but to see it come to life, under the stars of a warm summer’s eve – I can see why New Yorkers enjoy this!
When was the last time you saw a play, let alone an outdoor performance?

Monday Meter
To see the sky from God’s point of view
Reverses the stars’ order you once knew
Above, you see infinity
Impossible is possible, probably.
No end in sight in that glorious night.

Friday Fast One
Thanks to Lesley M. Carter’s challenge, I enjoyed a long, overdue hike – the source of this week’s collection of photos.
Themeless Thursday
-ESS
Every single slug
That’s what she shot
Along the trail as the day grew hot
The two of us cried, ‘c’mon, good grief!’
She shook her head, stopping only a brief
Banana, black, spotted, even dead
We asked, ‘mind if we go ahead?’
Every single slug
Her argument sound, as she sat on the ground:
‘you shoot every cactus, isn’t it true?’
Our silence, her reply, ‘this is no different, you two.’
Looking at then, and at Arizona photos now,
Darn, she was right, about the cacti anyhow.
Every single slug –
That’s what she shot.
Wouldn’t you know
That’s what stopped me on the spot.
