Only a few moments of sunshine today, so enough to brave a walk about the yard. The first photo is in the shade of one of too many mole hills to dodge. The second is a casualty of a misstep in the shade of a dip in the ground.

Along the path to the waterway,
Seedlings, like snow, pave the way.
Making a muddy ground white
As shadow-trees break through the light.
Sometimes the basic, everyday things in life need to be looked at from a different angle.
How do we deal with adversity? Do we run from it? Be passive around it? Or meet it head on?
Here are some quotes worth pondering:
“Sometimes we stare so long at a door that is closing that we see too late the one that is open.” ~ Alexander Graham Bell
“May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view. May your mountains rise into and above the clouds.” ~ Edward Abbey
“I truly believe that we can overcome any hurdle that lies before us and create the life we want to live. I have seen it happen time and time again.” ~ Gillian Anderson
“Forgive yourself for your faults and your mistakes and move on.” ~ Les Brown
“Worry does not empty tomorrow of its sorrow; it empties today of its strength.”-Corrie Ten Boom
“We should strive to welcome change and challenges, because they are what help us grow. Without them we grow weak like the Eloi in comfort and security. We need to constantly be challenging ourselves in order to strengthen our character and increase our intelligence. ” ~ H.G. Wells, The Time Machine

There’s more to the frame that makes up the rail, safeguarding the walker on an elevated trail.
The next time you find yourself on foot, remember the architecture that’s worth a second look.
Obvious shot on a warmer day, Kat can be coerced to going – and staying – outside all day.
Corner Nap
Corner nap for the pussy cat
Who is not in the mood to play.
‘Turn around, just go away
Gone, you should be at.
Never mind the ‘no crossing of lines’ –
Rules serve no purpose for any feline.
I’ll stay this way, you go that.
Don’t you know this corner’s for a nap?’
The Tasks of Masks
What is it about the masks on the wall?
No matter the size, how large or how small-
That tempts the passersby to want to hide from it all?
How do the paints and patterns bring about a character anew?
Do the different eyes before the face give a perspective now askew?
Are the masks worn day and night?
Are they on your face, blind to our sight?
How well do we mask the hurt, the pain?
How often do we hide away the distain?
Or is it the inner child taking part
In creative expression born of the heart?
Ever enter into a gathering place and wonder not about the absence of people occupying chairs but of the shadows of the personalities of those left behind? Were the discussions and gatherings amibicle or persuasive? Fun family reunions or purposeful progress being made? Was there singing or storytelling or another artform being created? In the world of social media and instant twitterings, textings, etc – have we lost the fine art of a basic face-to-face visit?
Sometimes, having a ball means just that when it comes to lights, angles and shots.
