First Snow of 2017
Amazing how each year begins
With a day no different than the one before
And yet we unwrap this day like a holiday
Ready with wonder for what’s in store.
Every day – before, here, later – brings
Newness in the details
Even if it’s in the same old things
So, may this year be merry, and full of
Splendid things – riches of blessings and fortune to rival that of kings.
The poem and the snow, so hopeful and bright! Thanks, my friend!
Glad you enjoyed. Happy New Year, my friend!
Happy New Year, my friend!
And to you, too, my friend!
Happy New, my friend. I loved the poem. The picture made me realize how fortunate I am to be in the desert. You have been too long absent from your writing. Of course, I Tweeted.
Happy New Year to you too, Mari! May have to plot a desert escape your way soon, my friend. (smile)
Just let me know. Unfortunately, all my bedrooms are filled with grandchildren, but we can figure something out.
Happy New Year, T! I was thinking about how we falsely assign a new start to this time of year, but I’m also finding it very useful in giving renewed energy to take stock of things and change what I would like to set on better schedules and better paths within myself. Life is feeling fresh again for me after the holiday season, and that’s a good thing to be sure.
